a celebrity dies.
it doesn’t take away from the hundreds of thousands of men and women that have died for your country. it doesn’t take away the grief you had when your favorite metal singer died.
but you know what’s a good takeaway from this?
people enjoy perverting the people they so called care about the most in order to get whatever shitty non-thought they had in their head.
yes. new jersey chose to fly the flag at half mast for her funeral. because she was from new jersey. gov chris christie did good this time (but other times, he’s a douche) by doing it for her and not apologizing for it either.
states cities and countries can fly a flag at half mast for whatever reason or person they see fit. it’s not your place to critique how someone processes grief especially when it’s something as innocuous as a half mast flag. it’s a sign of respect for somebody that was born in that state that contributed so much to the music industry.
i can understand if you’re not a whitney fan or an r&b fan but can we please quit with the perversion and exploitation of dead service members when there is a public outcry about a celebrities death?
fallen soldiers, police and firemen don’t do their jobs because they want the recognition after death. most of them died because they thought above and beyond themselves…you know…like most good human beings do.
so spare the rest of us rational thinking people who are pretty sure that the deceased soldiers souls are at rest and are pretty okay with whitney houston having a flag flown at half mast.
RIP whitney houston and everybody else that has ever died in history ever.

Exceptional-height African-American male. I'm artsy and ignant, threatening and cuddly, and generally not easily summarized.
